Another Chatham County Land Development in Moncure

Today it was announced that Duke Energy Carolinas has chosen a 1,470 acre tract near Moncure North Carolina to participate in the utility’s 2014 Site Readiness Program. Moncure is in southeast Chatham County.

Around 400 acres of this property is prime Chatham County land which comes from the upcoming closure of the Performance Fibers plant near Moncure. The other 1,000 is undeveloped land near to the industrialized land. The industrialized property has access to rail and transmission power sources. Some people are calling this site the “Moncure Super Industrial Park”.

According to the EDC’s press release, after the property is assessed and its state of readiness advances, Duke Energy may bring in industry recruiters to market the land nationwide to companies who are expanding or relocating.
