Pittsboro NC Real Estate Broker Eric Andrews discusses cell phone coverage in Chatham County. He is on the phone and travelling the roads daily and knows all the dead spots! Verizon and AT&T are the most popular carriers in the area and yes we get 4G LTE in town. But once you’re out of town… It Depends!
Speaker 1: How’s the cell phone coverage in Chatham County.
Speaker 2: It’s all over the place. It’s all over the place. It’s overall really, really good. I’m not a huge fan of Verizon, but Verizon’s probably the best comprehensive in Chatham County. A lot of people use AT&T in the northern part of the county, and that seems to work pretty good. But overall they share towers and they share….
We have pretty good coverage all over the county, but there are some noted dead spots, anytime… Not on 15-501 and not on 64, but usually any time that you cross a river, the banks are so steep and the bridge is so low that you’re going to lose coverage so much so that when I talk to my friends in Charlotte, they say, “Oh, did you just cross a river?” Because they either can’t hear me or it’s going to blank out. There’s some larger streams like Bear Creek where it does that as well.
There’s some dead spots in the Gulf, Bennett, Bonlee, the southwestern part of the county gets a little bit rough there. But overall… Oh, and then where Emerson Cook meets Silk Hope Gum Spring Road, there’s a big hilltop. There used to be a winery there and that is a noted dead spot where it just cuts off. But overall cell phone coverage is pretty good in Chatham County, don’t have to worry about it too much.
