First of all, Wolfspeed means about 2,000 jobs at the Siler City mega site. It’s a multi-billion dollar investment. It’s going to make a big difference in housing. I sold an 184-acre tract across the street and an 87 acre tract off of Moon’s Chapel. The large tract that I sold is going to be residential. There will also be both homes and townhomes on Harold Andrews Road
It all means housing, restaurants and businesses. The Siler City revitalization effort is incredible. There’s going to be a butcher, there’s already a nice coffee shop, there’s going to be a deli, there’s going to be a steakhouse and there’s already Thirsty Skull Brewery right around the corner. There will be more stores and shopping too.
There will be some nice paying jobs too with average pay of $77,000. That’s a lot more money than people are making in Siler City right now. They’re good clean and hi-tech jobs. This is the kind of stuff that America needs to be making like electric cars and superconductors.
